ABOUT

When ReFab first sought funding in 1990, people laughed in founder Rae Birkan’s face. Who on earth was going to buy clothing made from — gasp! — used, old clothing? Why waste money on a company built on waste?

Info Session for California Community College Students and Faculty

Did you know that we awarded a scholarship to a student from American River College who transferred to Grambling State University this year? This could be YOU!

Applications are open for The Hoffman Agency's HBCU Scholarship meant for California Community College students who are planning on transferring to a partner HBCU to pursue a degree in communications or a related field such as journalism, mass communications, public relations or English. This scholarship will cover tuition and fees for the recipient’s junior and senior year at an HBCU. Application deadline has been extended to March 31, 2025.

We'll be hosting an info session to provide you with details about the scholarship and the application process. The application process is simple. All you'll need to do is answer two 250-word essays and upload your most recent college transcripts and HBCU acceptance letter for the application.

This scholarship was developed in close partnership with Dr. Helen Young, Assistant Project Director for California Community Colleges Transfer Guarantee Pathway Agreement to HBCU, who will also be joining us for this session. Please RSVP to receive a link to the virtual event.

See you at our info session on Wednesday, February 26 from 1:30pm to 2:00pm Pacific Time. Reserve your seat today!
